2022 Lagoon Escapade

The weather was perfect and the winds in our favor when 20 Lagoon Catamarans set sails for Two Harbors, Catalina Island, South California for the 2022 Lagoon Escapade. Owners were welcome with a swag bag and Lagoon flags, while getting ready for the first event on the Island.

Friday evening was a byomf “bring your own meat/fish” and show your cooking styles! Appetizers, salads, drinks, etc were offered to accompany owners’ dishes. What a nice way to reconnect with everybody around the firepit while eating s'mores!

On Saturday, Captain John Miller presented an overview of safety at sea seminar with an emphasis on catamaran and how safe they are. A seminar is not a success until someone tries out what they learned! Christine jumped into the water with her life vest on to show how it inflates automatically, while Richard put the life raft in the water and detonate it for Christine to jump into it! She did it!

Saturday evening was The Diner Party! Guests would enjoy sipping a cocktail, attending a wine testing, playing Petanque, listening to the live band Good Cop-Bad Cop, etc. in a lovely French riviera theme set-up at the del Rey Yacht Club. Our friends at Harbor Reef Restaurant were serving the best cocktails of the island and a wonderful diner, all of it while guests were dancing on the dance floor till the end of the night!

Sunday morning, a flotilla of Lagoons left the bay to head back to reality but the sail back to Los Angeles was exceptional! 15 knots of wind and sunshine made the day!

What a lovely time we had on the Island! Thank you to all owners who were able to join us and we’re looking forward to seeing all of them and more next year!
